Writing Exercise
Today in writing group, we did a fun exercise where we took the poem “This Is Just To Say” by William Carlos Williams : http://www.poets.org/viewmedia.php/prmMID/15535 and created our own, keeping just the words “I have”, “and which”, “you” and “Forgive me”. The results were impressive, ranging from pithy to humorous. Here was my attempt:
I have taken
the liberty
of picking up
your dirty socks
and which
you seemed not
to notice littering
our bedroom floor
Forgive me
if you wanted
them there
I have had enough
