It’s almost spring (I just saw the first crocuses in our yard), and thus time to change the theme on my blog again. I do this at least once a year, to keep things from getting dull. This theme is called “Crafty”, and I like the color scheme, as well as the bit of whimsy. In fact, if I have any complaint, it’s that it is perhaps a bit bright, with not enough contrast. So I’m curious– what do you think? The lovely thing about WordPress themes is that you can change them in about 30 seconds.

7:00 p.m.- as i begin to write, i realize that so far, today has been more about doing than being. time to change that.
she tells me she is going to be a grandmother in March. a friend of mine a grandmother– i can’t quite wrap my mind around that.

i plunge my hands into the warm, soapy dishwater and let my thoughts wander…
there was a time in my life when i would have thought of a quiet friday night as dull. now i simply call it peaceful.
it is so dark and rainy i can barely see the road. i turn up my wipers, and focus on thoughts of home.
the cold snap has finally broken, and now we are back to business as usual: rain, rain, rain… and more rain. cold, wet, rainy rain. ah, january!
