  1. Cara,
I kept seeing your comments on the Writer Mama’s Back to School Giveaway and then tonight when I looked at my Google Reader I saw a post at Literary Mama. And, lo and behold it was you. (Oddly, I felt like I knew you…even though it was “just” from the comments you’ve left this month.) Anyway, your piece about your writing group is beautifully written. Congratulations on having it selected.
    King regards,
    Liz

    • Hi Liz,
Thanks, I’m glad you enjoyed my piece. With Breast Cancer Awareness month just beginning, and writing group about to start up again, it’s been very much on my mind lately.

And yes, it is funny how just by reading each other’s comments on Christina’s blog, it felt like we all got to know each other a bit. Now it’s time to go back and re-read some of the comments that I missed the first time around, and start checking out some of the other blogs!

      Cara

  2. Hi Cara,

“The Healing Pen” was such a perceptive representation of the things that happen when we grapple with the really hard things in life — I like the idea that it was through writing about some of the more mundane things that the group was able to bond over the life defining things. Thank you for what you shared.

    • Thank you, Paula. Even though our cancer experiences brought us together, it is indeed in the sharing our everyday stories that we are reminded of how much we still have left to be grateful for, and what cancer cannot take away.
